Obituary of Francis James Hubbard

Francis James Hubbard Guilford, N.Y. Francis James Hubbard 73 of Lake Road Guilford, N.Y. passed away peacefully Sunday morning December 22, 2013 at A.O. Fox Hospital, Oneonta, N.Y. He was born March 20, 1940 in Binghamton, N.Y. the son Archie Hubbard and the late Laura Westcott. On June 20, 1959, at the Guilford Methodist Church, he married Carol Mae Ingham. Fran was a well known building contractor in the Tri-County area. His faith was the corner stone he built his life on. He was instrumental in the reconstruction of the Sidney United Methodist Church after the floods of 2006 and 2011. He was an active member of the Sidney United Methodist Church and served for several years on its Board of Trustee, Past President of Chenango Co. Chapter of the Southern Tier Home Builder Association, President of the Guilford Lake Home Owners Association, and was a former member of the Bainbridge-Guilford School Board of Education. For several years, he served as Sunday School Superintent for the Guilford Methodist Church. Fran was an active member of the Planning Committee for the Town of Guilford. Mr. Hubbard was a caring and loving man with his family and especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Carol Hubbard 3 daughters and sons-in-law: Joanne and Bill Finch, Judy and Kenneth Albano and Suzanne and Keith Robinson Son and daughter-in-law Dean and Nicole Hubbard His Father and step-mother, Archie and Sally Hubbard 2 brothers and sister-in-law: David Hubbard and Robert and Darlene Hubbard 7 sisters and brothers-in-law: Joyce and Paul Keller, Phyllis and Mike Winn, Helen Hubbard, Doris and Allen Leatherman, Sally and John Cawthron, Nancy and Dale Fannin, and Anne and David Butcher. 11 Grandchildren: Brett Davenport, Stephanie (Charles) Bailey, Christopher Doyle (Telorea Miller), Joshua Wilce, Anthony (Tia) Albano, Michael Robinson (Amber Gardner), Matthew Robinson, Chloe Hubbard, Jeremiah Hubbard and Logan Hubbard. Francis is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his step-mother Ruth Hubbard, sister-in-law Shirley Hubbard and sister and brother-in-law Mary and Barry Williams. Friends and family are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday December 26, 2013 at the C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main Street, Sidney, NY. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday December 27th at the Sidney United Methodist, Liberty Street, Sidney. Burial will be at the family's convenience in the Sunset Hill Cemetery, Guilford, N.Y.
