Sally A. Jenson
Afton—Sally A. Jenson, 55, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on November 15, 1960, daughter of Leon and Hilda (Jacob) Wilde. Her family settled in Long Island where she enjoyed being near the water; she loved the beach and sailing.
In the early 1980s, Sally was married to Christian P. Jenson in Kings Park, NY and they made their home in Afton. He predeceased her in December 2007. She later found new happiness with Mark Hulbert, who she has shared the past seven years with.
Sally was a gifted artist; painting in particular. She was a lover of all animals and a true animal advocate. She loved her pets and enjoyed taking her dogs to the dog park. Her pride and joy, however, were her children. Sally had a kind and generous heart and a beautiful smile. She was a friend to everyone; you couldn’t help but love her. She faced her cancer with grace and positivity, and remained hopeful to the end.
Sally will be missed by: her mother, Hilda Wilde of Afton; four children: Clinton, Edwin, Nathaniel and Bridget, all of Afton; two sisters: Bobbi and Craig LaForte and Gail and Ken Ferguson, both of Afton; brother, Leon and Lisa Wilde of FL; her companion, Mark, Hulbert of Afton; mother-in-law, Bertha Jenson of Deposit; special friends, Patricia Lanois and Donna Hansen, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends.
Sally was predeceased by her father, Leon Wilde.
Her family wishes to extend their thanks to Dr. Paula Dygert, Dr. Barrett at Lourdes Hospital, Dr. Readling and the staff of Broome Oncology and Hospice & Palliative Care of Chenango County for their compassion and care during Sally’s illness.
