ANNA P. FELTER
Anna "Pat" (Beang) Felter was born in 1928 in Oneonta, NY, the daughter of Mary and Joseph Beang.
She graduated in 1946 from Oneonta High School, attended Union University of Nursing later becoming Albany Medical College where she graduated in 1949 as a registered Nurse.
From Nursing School, she attended Hartwick College in Oneonta where she met her husband John W. Felter. They were married in 1953. Pat worked as Nursing Supervisor at The Hospital in Sidney from 1971 until her retirement in 1993. She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, John W. Felter in April in 2000.
She is survived by her daughter and Son-in-Law Pamela Felter-Sanford and Richard D. Sanford, Jr. daughters Mary DiDio and Colleen Felter of Huntington, NY and Kim Felter Canarelli of New Berlin, NY along with her two grandchildren, Christopher and Michael Canarelli of Lancaster, Pa. She is also survived by her sisters, Carmella Fairbanks of Falls Church, Virginia and Nancy Beang of Washington, D.C. Pat was always concerned with the comfort and care of others, and especially loved her career as a Nurse. She was a mentor to those in her profession, a friend to those in need, a neighbor who loved to help out and a lover of animals and nature. Her dining room was always filled with beautiful plants and her memory will be seen every Spring as her outside gardening blossoms around her home. She had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and all of her animals and will be remembered by all for her sense of humor.
The family will receive friends at C. H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. in Sidney, N.Y. on Thursday March 17, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church located at 15 Liberty Street in Sidney, New York at 10:00 AM Friday, March 18, with Rev. Bernard Osei Ampong officiating. Burial in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Sidney will follow.
