Obituary of Albert Maruszewski

Albert R. Maruszewski, Otego, NY Albert R. Maruszewski, 73 of Otego passed away Monday, January 2, 2017 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown. He was born January 15, 1943, son of the late Frank Joseph and Henrietta (Blazejewski) Maruszewski in Brooklyn, NY. Al married Valerie Ann Brown on April 27, 1963 in Brooklyn. He was employed as a buyer for MEADWESTVACO in Sidney when he retired. Al taught AARP defensive driving classes in the area for many years. He was a dedicated member of Sacred Heart Church in Sidney, serving as head usher for the 5:30 PM Saturday Mass. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4937 in Sidney holding the office of treasurer. Al was known for his love of trains, the NY Mets and the Buffalo Bills. Al was a devoted family man; he loved and was proud of his family and especially his grandchildren He is survived by his loving wife – Valerie Maruszewski, Otego Daughter – Dawn Maruszewski, Otego Son – Raymond Maruszewski and his wife, Sherry, Otego Son – Ken Maruszewski and his fiancée, Nikki Jenks, Unadilla His grandsons, Brian and Mark Maruszewski He was also predeceased by his sister, Veronica Grasso Friends may call Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 4-7 PM at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, January 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church Liberty St. Sidney with Fr. Bernard Osei Ampong officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Unadilla.
