Edward A. Ostrander
Sidney—Edward A. Ostrander, 70, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Tri-Town Regional Hospital in Sidney. He was born on May 23, 1946, son of Kenneth E. and Nedra (Hyatt) Ostrander in Sidney. He retired in 2009 as a longtime employee of Amphenol Corp., working mainly as a chauffeur and groundskeeper. He was married to Gail Cutting on February 10, 1996.
Eddy O never sat still. He was a dedicated life member of the Sidney Elks Lodge 2175 and an avid golfer and member of Sidney Golf & Country Club. In his younger years, he liked playing softball and bowling. He loved to hunt, fish and camp at "the pond". He enjoyed yearly trips to Myrtle Beach and a good lobster tail or farmer's dinner. Eddy had a tap cleaning business for several local bars and restaurants, and was proud to recently become a school bus driver for Sidney Central School. He was also an enthusiastic blood donor. Above all else, Eddy loved his family.
Eddy will be dearly missed by: his wife, Gail Ostrander; four children: Rochele Ostrander, Ralph (JR) Ostrander, Michael T. and Larine Ostrander and Tara and Brian Morley; 11 grandchildren: Michael Bush, Jeffrey Coons, Storm Heath, Jonathon Felber, Britny Ostrander, Ashley, Tiffany, Danielle, Shelby and Blayde Ostrander and Logan Morley; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Charles and Vikki Ostrander; sister, Sharon and Arnie Harris; mother-in-law, Diane Cutting, as well as several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law and their families, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his father-in-law, Loren Cutting.
