Sheila Fransesconi was a little lady with a huge talent. Her quilts were absolutely items of beauty. She was a member of Susquehanna Valley Quilters a number of years ago. Those of us who knew her always looked forward to her turn at Show and Tell because we never knew what we would see when she stood up with a new quilt in her arms. She would enlist the help of taller friends to hold up her work of art. There was always a gasp from the audience as the piece to be shown unfolded. Her quilts were perfect in every way.......pattern, design, color and workmanship.
We all just knew that this is what a quilt should be and as she quietly told us the story of the quilt, for every quilt has its own story, we knew we should listen carefully because we were in the presence of someone who knew the special secrets. She was a prolific quilter......each new one as amazing as those that came before. How fortunate we were to have her as a member of our quilting guild. How fortunate her family is to have those beautiful handmade treasures to remember her by. Thank you, Sheila, for your inspiration and for sharing your lovely quilts with us.
