Tracy Simeon Bowker passed away on 9/4/17, at age 84, surrounded by family. Tracy was born to James Toledo Bowker and Vivian Elizabeth Beismer on Oct 11 1932.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Leonard Hartwell Bowker; his sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and Skip Jacques; Children: Jodi Bowker of Garland Texas, Curtis Bowker of Mt. Upton, Bill and Tracy Bowker of Struttgart, Germany, Donald Hartwell of Bainbridge, David Hartwell and Sue Brown of Rome, Cindy Smythe of Clifton Park, Tammy Bowker of Greenfield Center, Patty Bowker of Sherburne, Beverly Hartwell Sowersby and Scott Cleaveland of Oneonta, Sherry Bowker Guiles of Sherburne, Carin and Preston Bousman of Chesterfield Virginia; grandchildren: Tracy III, Cody and Kayla Bowker, Stephanie and Will Pfeffer, Chad, Derek, Chelsea and Evan Bowker, Ashley and Lee, Michael Hartwell, Cierra and Kris Stafford, Zachary and Caleb Hartwell, P.J. Dowd, Ian Bowker, Robert Hill, Brady Bowker, Hunter Sowersby, Brent Guiles, Cory Palmer, Will, Lilly and Jack Bowker, Zach Robertson; great-grandchildren: Rayne Thornton, Liam and Lottie Pfeffer, Maddie Stafford; sister-in-law, Ellie Bowker of Ipswitch, MA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Mary Leonard of Bainbridge; sister-in-law, Nancy Miner of Norwich; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A special thanks to Bim Palmer, Charlie and Diane Burnham and the Rockdale Rod and Gun Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, James Bowker; son, Tracy Bowker, Jr and his best feline friend, Buddy.
He graduated from Walton High School class of 1950 after which he worked at Amphenol, spent four years in the U.S. Navy from 1956-1960, returning to Amphenol, retiring in 1986. From 1986 to 1993 he worked as a machining instructor at Western Delaware BOCES.
He was a member of the Elks, Moose, Rockdale Rod and Gun Club and the Mt. Upton Senior Citizens.
The family wishes to extend their thanks to Dr. Lone and all the nurses and a special thank you to Dr. Rosen, Karen, Arlene and Jonathan of the dialysis dept in Cooperstown, the at home care nurses and Steve and Letitia, Heidi and Diane of Chenango County Hospice for letting the family spend more time with him. We will forever be grateful to all of them.
A celebration of Tracy's life will be held from 1:00-5:00pm on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Sidney Moose Lodge, East Main St. Sidney. Burial will be private in Greenlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rockdale Rod and Gun Club or Chenango County Hospice.
