Milton M. Curtis, Masonville
Milton M. Curtis, 88 of Masonville passed away peacefully at the NYS Veterans Home in Oxford on Monday, March 19, 2018.
He was born March 4, 1930, son of the late, Mason and Nina (Fancher) Curtis in Earlville, NY.
Milt graduated from Sidney High School with the Class of 1949 where he excelled in sports. He served his country in the United States Navy for four years during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged.
He married Shirley Turtur on December 31, 1954 in Sidney. Milt was employed as a toolmaker and toolroom supervisor for E.C.D. of Bendix when he retired in 1986.
Milt was a dedicated member of the Masonville Fire Department and Emergency Squad, as well as a member of the Sidney American Legion.
He is survived by:

Son and daughter-in-law – Jeffrey and Kelly Curtis, Oxford
Daughter and Son-in-law – Pamela and Steve Cancilla, St. Maria, CA
Grandchildren – Jessica (David) Johnson, Michael Rogers (Samantha), Jason (Amanda) Curtis, Brian Curtis
Great grandchildren, Amelia, Jack and Carson
Brother and Sister-in-law – Jerry and Bonnie Curtis, Sidney
Sister- Sandy Curtis, Saratoga Springs
And Nieces, Nephews and cousins
Milt was predeceased by three sisters: Marjorie Holt, Barbara Walker and Phyllis Byrne.
The family would like to thank the staff of the NYS Veterans Home, and especially the staff on Maple neighborhood, for their excellent care and compassion.
Friends may call Friday, March 23, 2018 from 12 Noon to 2:00 PM at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm.
Burial with military honors will take place on Saturday, May 5th at 12:00noon in Greenlawn Cemetery, Bainbridge.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Masonville Fire Department or the Masonville Federated Church
