Please share a memory of Cheryl to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Cheryl (Loker) Axtell, 76, of Masonville passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at Norwich Rehabilitation Center in Norwich, NY. She was born June 9, 1944, in Sidney, NY, the daughter of Charles and Elaine Loker. In 1962, she married her high school sweetheart, Keith Axtell. While much of her career was spent raising their children on the farm, in 1980, after sending her youngest to school, she began a career at McDonald's in Sidney. It was here she made lifelong friends, both young and old, with colleagues and patrons who often called her Mom. She loved her flower gardens, knitting, reading, quilting, and cake decorating, but above all she loved her family. Holidays were her favorite because that meant family would be together. She was predeceased by her parents and sisters Marilyn Day and Deborah Teehan. Surviving, in addition to her husband Keith Axtell, are brother, Daryl Loker (Jan) of Sidney Center, NY; sister, Margot Goodrich (Don) of Franklin, NY; daughter, Kimberly McKown (Jeffrey) of Masonville, NY; son, Keith Axtell, Jr. (Laurie) of Savannah, GA; daughter, Amy Reese (Richard) of Binghamton, NY; daughter, Joy Foley (Jeremiah) of Dayton, OH; and daughter, Patti Cairns (Jerry) of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren: Andrew, Matthew, Steven, Ashley, Morgan, Alisha, Jenny, Brianna, Mikayla, Jake, Katy; and great-grandchildren: Olivia, Sophia, Ethan, Wyatt, Makenna and Mason. Visitation will be held Saturday September 5th from 3-5pm at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St., Sidney. Funeral Service will be at the convenience of the family.
