Pennay and Robert Joseph Robertson. Tom is survived by his lifelong friend of 68 years and wife of 54 years, Jane Frederica Philley Robertson. He also is survived by his seven children, Rob (Kate), Bethie, Geri (Paul) Zoeller, Terri (Bill) Simonds, Amy, Melissa (Larry) Stevens and Tommy (Deb). Grandfather to Joshua, Nicole, Heather and Ryan Robertson, Creedence Guidice, John Schreiber, Shelley Zoeller, Carli Bruni, Kyle Bender, Alyvia and Joseph Simonds, Manny and Melisa Robertson, Jacob and Shealinn Stevens, and Jessica Robertson. Great-grandfather to Rebekah, Hayley, Scarlett, Killian and Treyton. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Fred (Ruth) and Jon (Ruth) Philley, and a niece and nephew. Coach Robertson is also survived by his family of wrestlers. Tom graduated from Windsor Central School in 1952. He lettered in football, basketball, wrestling, baseball, and track. He graduated from Colgate University in 1956 where he was a brother in Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. Tom began his teaching and coaching career in Deposit (1956-1959) before moving to Sidney. He taught social studies and coached the Sidney Warriors from 1959-1992. Tom was inducted into the National, the New York State, Section Four, and the Sidney Alumni Halls of Fame in recognition of his achievements in Wrestling. Tom was Senior Warden at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Sidney. Those who knew Coach Robertson experienced his sense of humor and uncanny ability to take over a room with a single word. Perhaps you were one of the lucky ones to whom Mr. Robertson assigned a nickname! He was witty and quick with one-liners. Tom embraced the underdog. Church, family, coaching, and teaching were his passions; fishing was his relaxation.
