Obituary of Kellie J. Ives
Please share a memory of Kellie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with extreme sorrow that the family of Kellie J. Ives announces her passing on February 5, 2021 after a hard fought and courageous battle with brain cancer. Kellie took on her battle with cancer with the determination and fight that she did with every challenge she faced. With respect and admiration when those close to Kellie asked for advice, they knew they were going to hear what they needed to hear, not what they wanted to hear, and sometimes didn't have to ask but were told anyway.
She was born to Richard and Beatrice Daniels on November 11, 1970. Being a Veteran's Day baby, she never had to go to school on her birthday. And when she began her professional career as a case worker for Chenango County and later a Court Clerk for Broome County Family Court, did not have to work on her birthday either.
Kellie is survived by her husband, Tom and sons, Phil (Cadi) and Adam; mother, Beatrice; sister, Tylena; mother-in-law, Kathryn; brother-in-law, Mark (Crystal); nephews, Kurt, Zachery and Brent; niece, Corrine and great nieces, Jaelynn and Laela Jo, many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was predeceased by her father, Richard, brother, Richard Whittaker and father-in-law, David.
Family first was Kellie's motto, always putting everyone's needs first, even though her needs outweighed the others.
Kellie loved spending time in the kitchen creating delicious meals for the family. To the delight of her father-in-law, her motto was "the more butter the better". Kellie's lasagna and home-made apple pies will be missed the most.
