Obituary of Jean L. DuVall

Jean Luvan DuVall of South New Berlin passed away at the age of 77 on Saturday March 13, 2021. She had a long and difficult battle with multiple sclerosis. Jean was born on May 17, 1943 in Bainbridge, NY. She attended elementary school in Cincinnatus, NY and high school in Sidney NY. She received a Bachelor’s Degree from Albany College of Pharmacy. She was a lab technician at Chenango Memorial Hospital and then was employed at Bassett Research Institute in Cooperstown NY for most of her professional career.
Her family and friends will miss her hilarious sense of humor, fun-loving nature, and ever inquisitive mind. She had a passion for nature, science, history, camping, fishing, music, and her pets. She was an amazing cook, an avid wildlife enthusiast, loved reading, jigsaw puzzles, crosswords, and road trips. She was a skilled textile artist and her many talents included spinning, knitting and weaving. She had been a member and onetime president of the Thistledown Spinning and Weaving Guild. She had also been a part of the White Store Church and Evergreen Cemetery Association.
Jean is survived by her daughter and wife, Audra J. DuVall and Alicia Ross; stepson David H. DuVall; stepson and wife, Edward H. DuVall and Amber Henriksen; grandchildren; Eddie, Garrick, Otto and Arlo. Jean was preceded in death by her husband Edward Otto DuVall; her parents, Eugene I. and Luvan A. Travers; and brother, DeLon E. (Tex) Travers.
A celebration of life Service will be held at a later date. If unable to donate please put up a bird feeder, bat house, or plant a tree in her memory.
