Obituary of Helen B. Fisher

Helen B. Fisher Afton, NY Helen B. Fisher, 90, longtime resident of Afton, passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at Wilson Medical Center, Johnson City. Helen was born on August 7, 1930 in Binghamton, NY, daughter of the late Donald and Sybil (Niles) Burgess. She graduated from Binghamton High School and the C.S. Wilson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, working as a Registered Nurse in Pediatrics and the Preemie nursery until she was married. Helen was married to Bryce M. Fisher on May 14, 1955, sharing many happy years before he predeceased her on May 25, 2018. She is survived by four children: Mitchell Fisher of West Chester, PA, Wendy Fisher of Oneonta, Ronald and Doreen Fisher of East Patchogue, NY and Karen Fisher and Dave Wasilewski of Hunlock Creek, PA; grandchildren: Brandon (Rosemary), Amanda (Adam), Carl, Michael, Aaron, Katherine and Christina; great-granddaughters, Adelaide and Evangeline Fisher; sister-in-law, Shirley Davy, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her granddaughter, Anna, and sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Merlin Hoag. Friends may call from 12:00-1:00pm on Friday, August 6, 2021 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. Funeral services will begin at 1:00pm at the funeral chapel. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Afton.
