Obituary of David Murray Odell
Please share a memory of David to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
And on the 8th day, God looked down on planned Paradise and said, "I need a caretaker".
David Murray Odell who fought to the end, passed away August 20th, 2021.
David was born August 6, 1947. He married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Barbara Stone Odell in July of 1967.
Dave had a strong passion for nature, all the beauty it presented and love for his family. His enthusiasm for farming was not only because it was his livelihood, but it was also something he truly loved to do. A large part of his life was sharing his knowledge to the younger generations of hunting, fishing, different foliage's, and the importance of when we "take" from nature you must also give back to nature.
Keeping his memory alive are his wife Barbara and children Kim and Dave Marshman, Kelly Odell, Kristy and Eric Carey, Phillip Odell, Troy Odell and his partner in crime and best friend "Rickie" Lauvas. Along with his immediate family Dave was truly loved by his extended family Betty and Tom Stone, Russell and Bonnie Stone & family and Lori and Charlie Sutton & family
Dave took great pride in his grandchildren. He taught each one how to catch and release (especially big Al) and how to cook "man hot dogs". Poppy's legacy will live through all his grandchildren: Jimmy MacDuff, Jacob Odell, Corey Marshman, Karly Marshman, Dominick Carey, Kyli Odell, Trenton Odell and his great grandchildren Ali and Brea MacDuff.
The family wanted to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation to all the nurses during his illness but especially to Crista Hartwell and Lindsey Stone for the love and special care.
Your legacy lives on and so does your love for the land….. and yes Dave, we will close the gate.
We will be having a memorial service at the Mount Upton United Methodist church at 10:00am on
Saturday, August 28, 2021.
There will be a private graveside service following the memorial service.
