Obituary of James E. Fletcher

James E. Fletcher, 39, of Greene, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 12, 2021. He was born in Sidney on March 25, 1982, son of Norman E. Fletcher and Donna (Alcott) Fletcher. Jim graduated from Afton Central School with the Class of 2000 where he enjoyed playing football and wrestling. Jim loved the outdoors and going fishing. Some of his fondest memories were of camping vacations with family. He loved to read, write poetry, watch football, especially the NY Giants and play online games. He also loved kids and was very close with his nieces and nephews. He was a good friend, always encouraging and supportive, and a staunch advocate for people who needed it. He will be missed by his soulmate, Allison McGraw and her children Joseph, Kai, Quentin and Maia; his mom, Donna Fletcher; sister and brother-in-law, Danielle and Scott Hoeppner; brother and sister-in-law, Jonathan Fletcher and Amy Virga; nieces and nephews: Alex, Madison and Claire Hoeppner and Otto Fletcher;; aunts and uncles: Norma Alcott, Karen Conklin, Harvey and Judy Fletcher, Emma Srinsky, Dennis and Linda Fletcher and Ethel Forward Fletcher, as well as many cousins and friends. Jim was predeceased by his father, Norman Fletcher; uncles, Dale Fletcher and Michael Srinsky; paternal grandparents, Ernest and Helen Fletcher; maternal grandparents, Edward and Freida Alcott; and cousin, Joshua Conklin. Friends may call from 11:00am to 12:00noon on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at the Sidney Elks Lodge, 104 River St. Sidney. A time of sharing and celebrating Jim's life will begin at noon.
