Peter Joseph Players went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 20, 2021.
He was born to William and Ruth Players in West Pittston, PA, April 17, 1935. He was married to Marilyn Ann Plows of Duryea, PA on October 4th, 1958. Shortly thereafter, Peter was drafted by the United States Army and served from 1958-1960.
In 1962, Peter and Marilyn established their home at 49 River Street in Sidney NY. Peter started working at Amphenol, formerly Bendix Electrical Components/ Engine Products Division, Sidney, New York . He retired after 37 years of service from Scintilla Works to Bendix, to Amphenol.
Peter is survived by his wife, Marilyn, of 63 years, a son Jeffrey /Kim Players of Telford, PA, and a daughter Gwenda / Christopher George of West Camp, NY, . Peter left 5 grandchildren, Victoria Joy/ Brent Musselman of Van Buren, OH, Rachel Lynn/ Tyler Brown of Kingston, NY, Olivia Alexa of North Port, FL, Daniel Christopher of West Camp, NY and Natalie Players of West Camp, NY..
Peter and Marilyn are members of the First Baptist Church in Sidney, NY since 1960. Peter was an elder and the church general fund treasurer upon his passing.
He loved model railroading, especially his collection of Lionel Trains. Peter loved working on his Victorian house and property.
Peter will be greatly missed by his wife, children and grandchildren.
He made is humble mark on all of their lives.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 23 at the First Baptist Church 28 River St. in Sidney.
Funeral services will follow at 1:00pm at the church.
Burial with military honors will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Sidney.
