Alan G. Hurd, 67 of Sidney, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Bassett Healthcare Center in Cooperstown. Alan was born on August 5, 1943 in Englewood, NJ, son of the late Newell Paul and Gladys Marie (Loeb) Hurd. Alan served in the US Navy from 1961-1962. He was a former employee of Borden's Chemical Company in Bainbridge.
Alan is survived by: Daughter, Meghan Cooper
4 Sons: Thomas Mitchell, Jamie Mitchell, Christopher Hurd and Benjamin Hurd
Brother, Bruce Hurd
As well as several grandchildren, 2 great-granddaughters, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by a sister, Lynn Gore.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30am on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.landersfh.com.
