She is survived by sister Marion(Mick)McGrath and brother David(Pat) Carter, aunt Barbara(Freddie) Baines, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones of England. Margaret attended finishing school in England and received a degree in accounting. From 1967-1971 she worked at Fisher Bendix Ltd in Liverpool England doing accounting, bookkeeping, statistics, payroll and comptometer operator. From 1971-1976 she worked at Connolly's Blackley, Ltd, Liverpool England. There she arranged best mode of transport for export, booking shipments, preparing export documentation, sales-received, process and expedited orders. Maintained good public relations with customer and overseas agents. Margaret moved to Mount Upton NY in 1976 and absolutely loved the rural countryside. She and Gary were married for over 35 years and became best friends. They spent over 35 years camping in a tent and fishing all over the Adirondacks. They took many trips, sometimes up to 5 trips a season. On occasion they had family & friends join them but always had their dogs, Kip & Molly with them. Her favorite camping spot was Indian Lake, camping there for 27 years straight. Margaret worked at Gilbertsville-Mt Upton CSD for over 26 years as a teacher's aide. She filled in for many different positions over the years as needed. She was very devoted and loved her work, especially with the little ones (K-3rd grade). She was loved by staff and students. In May of 2017 she received the award for Support Staff of the Year. She retired in May of 2020. Margaret was gifted with incredible artistic abilities since childhood. She could sketch and paint scenery, people and animals with great skill. Some projects took minutes while others took days or weeks to complete. She was great with many crafts. She enjoyed making costumes for the kids on Halloween or other parties. She also enjoyed helping out with scenery at the school plays. Springtime was always enjoyed by walks. She enjoyed the spring flowers that came up the yard and also along the roadside. She was able to name several wildflowers that grew all over. She also enjoyed the Fall and the colors. While visiting NY before she moved here, she was so taken with the beauty of the leaves she brought them home to England to share with her family. Another love was Christmas. Her house was known as "the Christmas house" and every room, including the bathroom was decorated! Rooms were filled with Santa's, snowmen, and angels. Green garland with white lights decorated the windows and beams in the house. Just imagine Macy's department store at Christmas, it resembled that! No matter what the season, Margaret will be deeply missed. Friends may call from 4-7pm on Sunday, May 15th 2022 at C.H.
