Obituary of Richard W. Forsythe

Richard W. Forsythe Sidney, NY Richard W. Forsythe, 72 a 50 year resident of Sidney, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, September 21, 2010 at A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta. Dick was born on November 5, 1937, son of the late Roscoe and Dorothy (Johnson) Forsythe in Norwich, NY. Dick worked at At-A-Glance (Mead) in Sidney as a stock chaser for 45 years: he was a regular at the Annual Mead picnic. Dick was a life member of the Sidney Fire Department, and also a life member of the Sidney Moose Lodge #277. He enjoyed going to Trackside for ice tea or coffee, while visiting with his many friends, as well as attending church suppers. He enjoyed playing and also working at Bingo. Dick liked bluegrass music and watching pro basketball on TV. He was a friendly and outgoing man, and he will be greatly missed by friends, family and all the people whose lives he touched. Dick is survived by: His daughter, Carol Ann Forsythe of Otego Step-sister, Cindy and Bruce Shackelton of Sidney and their children Tim, Catherine and Christina 3 nephews, Randy, Mark and Bob In addition to his parents, Dick was predeceased by his brother, Donald, and a nephew, Jack. Friends are invited to call on Friday, October 1, 2010 from 6:00-7:00pm at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. A memorial service by the Sidney Fire Department will follow at 7:00pm at the funeral chapel.
