Obituary of Sandra Lee Townsend

Sandra Lee Townsend passed away on July 15, 2022. Sandy was born on December 30 1941 to the late Richard and Isabelle Flanders in Albany NY Sandy enjoyed crocheting her famous scrubbies, her favorite time spent was with her best friend and granddaughter Lizzie. She was a devoted and extremely proud mother and grandmother. One of Sandy's greatest accomplishments was getting her GED in 1984 accompanied by her daughter Heidi. Sandy was known for her smile, contagious laugh, and her love of Elvis. Sandy is survived by her Husband Howard Townsend, her children Frank (Sandra) Smith Springtown TX, Scott (Hisae) Smith Okinawa Japan, Heidi Johnson Sidney NY, Daniel (Shana) Smith Middleton ID, Hayley (Skip) French Mt. Upton NY, her grandchildren Jacob, Jansen, Dustin, Christopher, Jessica, Matthew, Scott, Ashley, Elizabeth, Alicia, Buddy, Sierra, Ian, Adam, Gabriel, Mallee, 14 great grandchildren, two step daughters Marissa (Paul) Simpson NC, Annette Hurst FL, Sister Sue (Bill) Schreckengost Florissant CO, Sister Diane (Don Foote) Conway SC, Brother Michael (Victoria) Flanders Crystal Beach Canada, Sister Kathy (Tim) Hudson Mt. Upton NY, Sister in law Freida Flanders Susquehanna PA and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Sandy was predeceased by her brother Richard Flanders and sister Vicki Ryan. Friends are invited to join the family in Sandy's celebration of Life to be held at Hayley and Skip French's house 794 County Hwy 1 Mount Upton, NY 13809 on July 30, 2022 at 2:00pm.
