Betty D. Wood, 99, passed away on December 10, 2022 at Mercy House in Endicott. Betty was born on January 11, 1923 in Carbondale, PA, the second of six children of the late Monroe and Margaret (McDonough) Dow. In 1955, she was married to Donald Wood, who predeceased her in 1979. She worked at Scintilla as an assembler for several years. She enjoyed gardening and mowing lawn, cleaning and working. She liked to crochet and solve word search puzzles, and loved shopping with her sister Margaret. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Betty Ann and Ronald Pinney; their son Daniel (Hope) and children Garrett, Ryan and Harrison; their daughter Rebecca (Jamie) Peck. She is also survived by her son and his companion, Donald Wood and Cindy Hawkins; his son, Donald (Jenna) and their daughter Sofia; his son, Sean (Ashley) and their children Tysen and Brycen; and his daughter, Nicole and her daughter Rhian. Her sister, Doris, also survives, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was predeceased by her siblings Jim, Richard, Margaret and Jenny. Graveside services will be held in Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Unadilla at 11:00am on Tuesday, May 9th, 2023. Memorial donations in her memory may be directed to Mercy House of the Southern Tier, 212 N. McKinley Ave. Endicott, NY 13760. Share condolences and memories online at www.landersfh.com.
