Obituary of Darwin Olin Taft
Please share a memory of Darwin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Darwin Olin Taft, a son of Bainbridge, died at his home in Bainbridge on Monday December 12th, 2022. He was born and raised here and except for a few years in Endicott and the Rockdale/Mt. Upton area, Bainbridge was his home. He volunteered for many years at the firehouse and emergency squad and dedicated countless hours to St. Peter's Episcopal Church in town.
He proudly raised a family of biological and chosen children and was predeceased by his wife Beatrice Taft, his daughters Kathy Arend and Ellen Regan, and his granddaughter Jessica Regan. He is survived by his current wife, Melvina Taft, and his children: Darlene Alexander, Nancy Taft, Nancy Culver, Lois Thompson, Terry Taft, David Taft and Richard Taft, and by 17 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
We will hold a celebration of his life in the spring at St. Peter's Church in Bainbridge. In his honor, please give or donate to anyone in need, as he did his entire life.
