Obituary of Providence DiBenedetti

Providence “Provy” Francoise DiBenedetti passed peacefully in her home in Sidney, NY on January 31, 2023 at the age of 98. She is survived by her children, Denis, Gerard and Donna, grandchildren Brittany, Alec and Nicole and great grandchildren AJ, Jamal, Maya, Cole and Elio. She was predeceased by her husband, Nat DiBenedetti. Providence was born on October 4, 1924 in Tunis, Tunisia and emigrated to the US in December, 1954 by way of the cruise ship the Andrea Doria. She became a US Citizen on December 16, 1960. Providence was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved to cook, sew, knit and crochet. She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles to keep her mind sharp. She made various donations to organizations such as Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as she was a breast cancer survivor at age 75, and to the Humane Society, as she loved all animals. A private Memorial Service will be held at CH Landers Funeral Home in Sidney, NY. The family has been blessed by her longevity; may she rest in peace with the Angels.
