Obituary of Dominick D. Sandoli

Dominick Dennis Sandoli, 80, of Nineveh, passed away on May 30, 2023 at Wilson Regional Medical Center in Johnson City. He was born on October 8, 1942 in Albany, son of the late Salvatore and Thomasine (Spinola) Sandoli. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Kay, his brother, Sam, and his father-in-law, Duane Wakeman. Denny is survived by his son, Daniel; daughter, Katie; mother-in-law, Marguerite Wakeman; sister, Phyllis and Gary Couse; and brother, Joe and Gail Sandoli.
Denny attended St. Mary's in Oneonta and graduated from Oneonta High School and received his associate degree in business management from Delhi Tech. He went on to serve his country in the Army Reserves and the US Navy from 1964 to 1970.
Following his honorable discharge, he began his career with the Oneonta Police Department before becoming a Communications Specialist with the New York State Police Troop C, where he retired from.
Denny was so proud of his son, Daniel, as he went out into the world on his first job, and so thankful to the Franziska Racker Center for the care of their autistic daughter, Katie.
He will be missed by his family, friends and anyone who crossed his path in life.
Friends may call from 6:00-8:00pm on Monday, June 5, 2023 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, June 6th at the funeral chapel. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Bainbridge, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his memory may be directed to the Franziska Racker Centers, 3226 Wilkins Road, Ithaca, NY 14850. In honor of Denny's character and spirit, his family requests you wear something fun to the service.
