Obituary of Jacob A. DeLay
Please share a memory of Jacob to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jacob (Jake) Allen DeLay passed away peacefully on October 7, 2023, at the age of 90.
Jake has joined his wife, Jackie for the dance party that they have not had since she passed in 2014. We could hear the music playing when he passed, and it helped us smile just a little bit knowing that Jake has been reunited with Jackie. He has also joined his mother, sister, mother-in-law, and brother-in-law for the big party they are all having.
Jake worked hard his whole life to support his family. He had many jobs in life. He was in the Navy for 8 years and later in life continued his military career for 20 more years in the National Guard. During this time, he also worked at Unalam, the Sidney School, and retired from Amphenol after 18 years of service.
Jake's greatest accomplishment is the family he is survived by, daughter Theresa, son David, son-in-law Vince, and daughter-in-law Barbara. Jake had 6 grandchildren: Brittney, Courtni, Trenton, Ashlyn, Kelsey, and Jacob. He also had 9 great grandchildren: Amorry, Jayden, Mia, Mya, Mayla, Jordan, Karson, Liam, and Maci.
Jake enjoyed many different things like camping with his family and friends and what great memories were made that were talked about often. Hunting and fishing were some of his other favorite pastime things he enjoyed. He loved watching sports, football season was always fun for him, and he was a big Oklahoma Sooner fan.
