Obituary of Dawn Marie Sharp

Dawn Marie (Daisy) Kirkland Sharp, 85, of Sidney, NY, left us all on November 15, 2023. Dawn was born in Bainbridge, NY to Louis and Roberta Kirkland. She graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1956. She worked for many years at different places as an accountant. She and Isobel Lukose owned Professional Bookkeeping in Sidney for a number of years, until she retired at the age of 79. Dawn also owned 2 bars, Larry G's in Guilford and LAD's in Sidney. She loved to dance on the bar, so she figured if she bought her own, she could dance on them any time she wanted! Dawn was known for her passion for living. She had many friends of all different ages. She loved Elvis and dancing to his songs with her great grandchildren. Anyone that knew her knew she loved to have a good time. Instead of the saying "It's not over 'til the fat lady sings", it was "the party's not over 'til Dawn leaves!!" Dawn is survived by: daughter, Tammy (McCue) Barnhart of Bainbridge; her granddaughter, Miranda and Tim Fazio of Kentucky; great-grandchildren whom she adored, Aryanna, Brody, Brooklyn and Kinslee Fazio; daughter, Kerri McCue of Norwich; granddaughter, Alleana and family of Oregon; grandson, Brent Hilgers of Oneonta; son and daughter-in-law, Regan and Emily Sharp of Oregon; step-son, Tim Sharp of Florida and his son, Van James of Syracuse. Dawn is also survived by her sister, Becky Williams of Windsor and her children and families and her brother, Danny Gardner and his children and families. She also leaves behind one of her dearest friends and caregivers, Sue Donegan, who helped her and us through these past few months; and her beloved dog Ranger. She also has many nieces and nephews and their families, who were very dear to her heart, and many dear friends and people that she called family. Dawn was predeceased by her dad, Louis Kirkland, and her mother and stepfather, Roberta and Henry Gardner; brother, Larry Gardner; sisters, Charlene Curry and Billie Rae Bargher, as well as brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
