Obituary of Mildred "Milly" Babcock
Please share a memory of Mildred to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mildred "Milly" (Heck) Babcock, 85, left us to be with the Lord on January 31, 2024 at Bridgewater Rehabilitation Center in Binghamton after a long battle with strokes and multiple health issues.
Born October 13, 1938 in Oneonta, NY to the late Charles Heck, Sr. and Eva (Oliver) Heck, she was the 5th of 6 children, sharing a special connection and bond with her sister Lilian Olsen.
Milly married her lifelong love and soul mate, Ralph Babcock on June 29, 1958. They shared a 65 year strong and loving marriage, with Ralph being her sole caregiver up until her passing. They shared a friendship as well as an unbreakable love; it was rare you ever saw one of them without the other.
Having three children, Ralph Babcock, Jr., Randal Babcock, Sr. and Brian Babcock, she shared her immense love and devotion to her family with an especially strong connection to her granddaughters, Jodi Hulbert and Keli Babcock, as well as her great-grandchildren, Amiah Campbell and Rayla Ross.
Aside from her family, her biggest joy was finding a good bargain, either at a yard sale or a "blue light special" at Kmart, no matter what it was someone could use it!
Milly is survived by her loving husband, Ralph Babcock, Sr. of Sidney; sons: Ralph Babcock, Jr. of Silver Point, TN and Brian (Rhonda) Babcock of Sidney; sister, Lilian (Heck) Olsen of Bloomville; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Eva Heck; brothers, Charles Heck, Jr., Wayne Heck and Robert Heck; sister, Josephine Mongillo; and her son, Randal Babcock, Sr.
