It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Mary Alice Bagley, 75, of Sidney, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Friday, February 9, 2024 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.
She was born May 14, 1948, daughter of the late John Joseph and Alice (McCarthy) Knapp in Bainbridge.
Mary graduated from Sidney Central School Class of 1966.
She married Kenneth Royden Bagley on June 21, 1969, in Sidney.
Mary was employed by the Sidney Central School district. "Mrs. Bagley" had a significant impact on the students, staff, teachers, and administrators over 35 years of service.
A lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church in Sidney, Mary was known for her big heart, her love for her boys and grandchildren, but mostly an undying love for her husband Ken.
Mary will be remembered and admired for her devotion to her faith, family, and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Kenneth; her adoring sons: David (Elaine), Jeffrey (Brenda), Stephen (Deana) and Andrew (Autumn); her beloved grandchildren, John, Drew, Elizabeth, Samuel, Camille, Alice, Adam, Quincy, and Vincent; her sisters: Connie (Jack) Edelen, Barbara (Jerry) Patrick, Ellen (Peter) Robinson and Bernadette Raleigh; her brother, William Knapp; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Marcia Bagley; sisters-in-law, Debbie Knapp and Patty Knapp; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was also predeceased by her brothers, Daniel and Todd; granddaughter, Sloane; sisters-in-law, Mary Claire and Connie; nephew/ godson, James and nephew, Christopher.
Friends may call from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm on Monday, February 12, 2024 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Sacred Heart Church, 15 Liberty St., Sidney, with Fr. Dr. Bernard Osei Ampong officiating.
Burial will be private in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Sidney.
