Obituary of Pamela Jean Sands

On June 5, 2024, while holding hands with her loving husband, family and staff by her side, Pamela Jean Sands (Hall) of Sidney, passed away peacefully after a long and courageous multi-medical health battle. “Pam” was a loving and giving daughter, sister, mother, wife, and grandmother, who worked hard and loved harder. She loved to travel and spend time with her family and was happiest when the two were combined. She was a dedicated employee who was an integral part of the Shuman B-Line Corporation for decades.
Pam is survived by her husband of thirty-four years, William “Bill” Sands of Sidney. Her two sons, Anthony “Tony” (Vicki) Winchester of Oneonta; John (Annemarrie) Winchester of Oneonta, stepson Sean (Veronica) Sands of Sidney; grandchildren Anthony “AJ” Winchester, Ryan (Megan) Winchester, great-grandchildren Lucas, Owen, and Jackson Winchester, mother Lillian Hall, siblings Donna (Don) Decker; Fred (Andrea) Hall, Penelope Timer, Wendy Cleaveland, and several nieces and nephews who were near and dear to her heart, Donnie (Chris), David, and Dennis (Stephanie) Decker, Jennifer Timer, Casey Hall, Cami and Shelby Cleaveland, and several cousins, great nieces and nephews, as well as one very special cousin, Linda Winston, who was extremely helpful and supportive throughout Pam’s medical journey. She was predeceased by her father Fred Hall and her niece Crystal Timer.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Becky and Mike and the staff at The Oxford Veteran’s Home for the loving and compassionate care they provided Pam in her final days. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made to the Volunteer Guild of the NYS Oxford Veterans’ Home, 4207 State Highway 220, Oxford, NY 13830.
As per Pam’s wishes there will be a graveside service on Saturday, June 15, at 3:00 pm at the Nineveh Presbyterian Cemetery, 2997 NY-7, Nineveh, NY 13813.
