Masonville, NY
Burton J. Benedict, Jr. 64 of Masonville passed away Friday, January 7, 2011 at the Tri-town Regional Hospital in Sidney.
He was born June 4, 1946, Son of the late Burton John and Bertha (Ruff) Benedict in Greene, NY.
Burton served his country in United States Army from 1967 to 1968. He was a trained MP specializing in dog handling, code of conduct, military justice and chemical, biological and radiological training. He received the National Defense Service Medal, the Sharpshooter Badge w/ pistol bar, and Expert Badge with rifle bar, Marksman Badge w/ missile bar.
Upon his honorable discharge, Burton was employed in the maintenance department with the Borden Chemical Co. in Bainbridge. He retired in 2007.
