Obituary of William James Reeves

William (Bill) J. Reeves Afton, NY "Thank you for sharing with us the beautiful life that you saw before you, thank you for the amazing stories, the hugs filled with love and the warm smile, we will always miss you" William (Bill) J. Reeves, 76, peacefully passed away February 17, 2011. He is survived by his loving wife Lynn (Linda) Blackwell Reeves of 31 ½ years and 3 kitties Zinnia, Newman & Itty-bitty. He was the son of Russell and Mildred Reeves of Greenport, LI, NY. He is also survived by his adopted family AJ and Melissa Tanner; adopted grandchildren Robert and Amanda Rickard; sisters and brothers-in-law Doris and Walter Kessler of Nineveh, NY and Nancy and Floyd Vanwyck of Orient, NY; nephews, John Kessler and Richard Schnur of Nineveh, NY; 3 nieces Joann and Steve Austin of Nineveh, NY, Linda and Phil Williams of Leander, TX and Susan Harvey of Owls Head, NY. Bill was an avid Bird Watcher, amateur Naturalist, and Nature Photographer. He wrote several stories that you can see on his Blog, thewigeon@blogspot.com. He was also a collector of cars, trains & planes. He enjoyed setting up model trains and dioramas. He gave his love unconditionally to his wife and almost all he met. Calling hours are from 5:00 to 7:00pm on Monday February 21, 2011 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. Funeral services will be held at Afton Presbyterian Church, 11 Academy St., Afton, on Tuesday February 22nd at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made be made to the Town of Bainbridge Andrews Wetlands Preserve. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.landersfh.com.
