Obituary of Kenneth Mitchell Stoutenberg

Kenneth Stoutenberg, Jr. Bainbridge, NY Kenneth (Junny) Stoutenberg, Jr., 82, of Bainbridge, went to be with his predeceased family, friends and his Heavenly Father, on July 20, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family members after a short battle with cancer. He and his wife of 57 years, Anna, were lifetime residents of Bainbridge. Kenneth was a hard worker, husband, father and family man. A carpenter by trade, followed in his father's footsteps, then passed his knowledge down to his son, Gary. He had a love for all animals and will be missed by his old cat "Nuisance". His favorite pastime was to sit in his room where it was peaceful for him to watch television: baseball, football and NASCAR racing were his favorites. He is survived by: His wife, Anna Stoutenberg of Bainbridge 2 Children: Gail E. Smith of Afton Gary and Gail Stoutenberg of Bainbridge 4 Grandchildren: Royce Hallett (Bellevue, Neb.), Denialle Lee (Johnson City), Emmie Nelson (Sidney), Lisa and Jim Cummings (Norwich). He was a great grandfather to 14: Luciano and Manuela Hallett, Dereck, Brandi, Brooke, Dylan and Dalton Nelson, Ethan and Amiyah Cummings, Mercedez and Kobe Lee, Brandon and Madison Smith and Makenzie Darling and a great-great grandfather to a new baby girl, Ameilyah May Nelson. He is also survived by his sister, Irene Cordner of Sidney, and two brothers: Pete and Pauline Stoutenberg of Bainbridge and Royce Stoutenberg of North Pole, Alaska. He was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Iva Stoutenberg, mother-in-law, Iva Winn, sisters Flippy Sawdy and Vera Howard, as well as a grandson, Dominic Smith. He will be missed by those who knew him and shared a piece of his life. A special thank you goes out to those dedicated workers at Hospice of Chenango County who gave so much of themselves with their care, concerns and comfort. Family and friends may gather to pay their respects on Monday, July 25, 2011 from 6:00-8:00pm at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. A graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery, Bainbridge, on Tuesday, July 26th at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kenneth's family, or to Hospice & Palliative Care of Chenango County, 21 Hayes St. Norwich, NY 13815.
