Obituary of Richard Carl Mulligan

Richard C. Mulligan Guilford, NY Richard Carl Mulligan, 57, of Guilford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich. Richie was born on May 29, 1954, son of the late William and Emma (Hamilton) Mulligan in Southampton, NY. In his senior year of high school, while attending BOCES for mechanics, Richie met his high school sweetheart, Barbara Daugherty. They were married on June 2, 1973 in Westhampton Beach, and shared 38 years together. Richie was a 24 year member of the Bridgehampton Fire Department, serving as Chief from 1993 until 1995. Richie and Barb moved to Guilford. Richie began working for Mirabito Fuel Group as a Propane Service Manager and later in customer service. He worked with them for thirteen years and really enjoyed his job. Richie loved John Deere; it was his greatest love next to Barb. He owned a 1946 Antique tractor that he restored and took to shows. He also enjoyed racing with his father-in-law, often lending a hand as a mechanic. Richie is survived by: His wife, Barbara Mulligan of Guilford His father-in-law, Alvin Daugherty of Guilford His sister-in-law, Bonita Norris and her husband, Gary of East Yaphank, NY And many friends. Friends are invited to call on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 from 7:00-9:00pm at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, August 17th at the funeral chapel. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Gospel Hill Cemetery, Guilford.
