Obituary of Edmund H. Conklin

Edmund H. Conklin, Jr. Bainbridge, NY Edmund H. "Jake" Conklin, Jr. 81 of Bainbridge passed away Thursday September 1, 2011 at Countryside Care Facility in Delhi. He was born March 26, 1930, son of the late Edmund and Mildred (Brown) Conklin in Delhi. Jake grew up on the family farm in Hamden and worked for the NYC Watershed system constructing and maintaining tunnels for 13 years. Jake later worked for Jess F. Howes in Sidney Center until he retired in the late 1980's. He loved to garden and always kept the neighbors on Neff Hill stocked with fresh vegetables. For the past 18 years, Jake's faithful dog Buck was his companion whom on occasion he would share a beer with. Jake is survived by: Best friend - Duane and Phyllis Green, Unadilla 3 Daughters - Donna Gorsch, Delhi Jerrian Cronin, Oregon Pamela Brown, New Hampshire 2 Sons - Donald Conklin, Delhi Virgil Conklin, Stamford Brother - Leo Conklin Sister - Faith Sherman He was also predeceased by Son, Edmund, Brother, Harold and Sister, Peggy Hamilton Upon Jake's request, there are no services. Burial will be in Hamden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice.
