Anna M. (Moneta) McLean passed away on September 20, 2011 at the New York State Veterans Home in Oxford, NY. Anna was one of ten children, born on November 12, 1922, to the parents of Roman and Amelia Lisiesky in South Kortright, NY. When in her teens, the family purchased and moved to a farm on West Brook, Walton, NY. It was here where she met her husband, McKay J. Moneta. They were married in Walton at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on April 15, 1944. This marriage produced two children, daughter, Sharon, and son, Mike. While in Walton raising their children, Anna also owned and operated her beauty shop for 35 years. In May 1968, McKay (Mac) passed away after a long illness.
Several years later, Anna married Harry McLean in Walton. Eventually, Anna retired and she and Harry moved to Crest Drive, Bainbridge. While in Walton, she belonged to the Catholic Daughters of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She also loved gardening, baking, playing the accordion and dancing. She was very involved with family gatherings and being with her grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husbands, Mac and Harry, Anna was predeceased by her grandson, Alan Utter, four brothers: Marian (Mac), Marshall, Stanley (Steve) and Jim and two sisters: Stella and Regina.
Surviving her are daughters, Sharon (Wade) Utter of Afton, NY and Joan Davis of Johnstown, NY; a son, Michael (Eileen) Moneta of Charlotte, NC; seven grandchildren: Brian Utter and family of Conroe, TX, Todd Utter of Chapel Hill, NC, Chad Utter and family of Millbrook, AL, Derek Utter and family of Florence, SC and Mac, Marley and Greer Moneta of Charlotte, NC; thirteen great-grandchildren: Ashley and Matthew Utter of Oswego, NY, Ayden, Autumn and Jacob Utter of Conroe, TX, Braxton and Hope Kicklighter, Sharon and Emily Utter all of Millbrook, AL, Kailyn Miller, Gavin and Makenna Utter all of Florence, SC and Alex Moneta of Charlotte, NC; her sisters, Sarah Jensen of Norwich, NY and Agnes Natoli of Westchester, PA and her brother, Andrew Lisiesky of Binghamton, NY.
Friends are invited to call from 10:00-11:00am on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am at the funeral chapel. Burial will take place in Walton Cemetery, Walton, following the service.
