Clarence Daniel Burnett, 64, of Afton died Sunday, December 18, 2011 with his family by his side after fighting a courageous battle with cancer at the Albany Veterans Hospital.
He was born May 27, 1947 to Clarence F. and Joyce (Shupe) Burnett in Afton. Dan graduated from Afton Central School and enlisted into the United States Navy in 1968. He served his country honorably in Vietnam and was discharge in 1971.
In the past Dan work for Venture Communication and RMJ Enterprises in Afton. For the past 14 years Dan lived in Tupper Lake. He was employed by Days Wholesale in Tupper Lake before he retired.
Dan was an avid outdoorsman, a voracious reader and a knowledgeable historian. His greatest love was his children and family. Dan was a member of the VFW in Tupper Lake and the Moose Lodge in Tupper Lake.
He is survived by:
Daughter and Son-in-law - Jackie and Daryl Decker of Norwich and their children Gabriel and Reagan.
Son - Jason Burnett of Maryland, NY and his daughter, Madison.

Dan was predeceased by his Father, Clarence F. "Bucky" Burnett on October 12, 2010.
Friends may call Thursday, December 22, 2011 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney. A memorial service will follow in the funeral chapel at 11:00 AM with Rev. Doug Besemer officiating.
