Obituary of Dayle G. Schmidt

Dayle G. Schmidt Unadilla, NY Dayle G. Schmidt, 67, of Unadilla, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 28, 2012 after an extended illness. Dayle was born on September 29, 1944, daughter of the late Myron Ernest and Leona Alice (Wilcox) Elwood in Sidney. She graduated from Sidney High School with the class of 1962 and stayed in the area her entire life. Dayle worked for a variety of local businesses including Amphenol, The Hospital in Sidney, Mang Insurance, and NBT Bank, as well as various convenience stores, before formally retiring in December of 2003. In 1970, Dayle married Roger E. Schmidt in Oneonta. They celebrated their 42nd Anniversary on April 19th. Dayle was an avid bowler, bowling on numerous leagues over the years. She also enjoyed knitting. Her favorite hobby though, was spending time with her grandson, Konnor. He was her pride and joy. Dayle is survived by: Her husband, Roger Schmidt of Unadilla Two Sons: Timothy Gould and his companion, Amy of Melbourne Beach, FL Mark Schmidt and his wife, Takiya of Guilford Step-Children: Michael Schmidt of Ludington, MI Pamela Schmidt of Binghamton And seven grandchildren In addition to her parents, Dayle was predeceased by her sister, Elaine Elwood. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in Dayle's name may be directed to the Sidney Center Emergency Squad, Sidney Center, NY 13839.
