Thomas Albert Goodrich

Tom was born December 19, 1946 in Bainbridge N.Y. to the late Leslie and Mildred Roberts Goodrich of Coventryville, N.Y. He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Van Voorhis from 1965-1969. He became an electrician and worked for 30 years at Raymond Corporation. He later went on to work for Blue Ox, B.W. Elliot and retired from Amphenol.
Tom is survived by his loving wife and soul mate, Gina Folts Goodrich. His brothers and sisters: Marie Gill of Herkimer, Ralph Goodrich of Prinston, West Virginia, Jane Elvene Hurlburt of Bainbridge, Lester Goodrich of Bainbridge, Janette Zindle of Chenango Forks, Earl Goodrich of Oneonta, and Thelma Hinman of Oxford. His children Thomas and Kristin Goodrich of Otego, Glenna and Patrick Carey of Unadilla, Sandra and Tony Baker of Oxford and stepdaughters Heather Wright and Joe of Nineveh and Amy Kithcart of Johnson City. Grandchildren Ashley Goodrich, Abreanna Goodrich, Beth Carey, Zacharia Carey, Quinn Wright, Chelsea Jones, Emily Jones, Jason Kithcart, Noah Kithcart, Jacob Wright, Ryan Wright, Kyle Baker and Paul Baker. He was predeceased by beloved son Joseph Goodrich, brother William Goodrich and sister Caroline Cluff.
He spent many hours donating his time and resources to help others. He could always be counted on when needed. He was an EMT and member of the Coventry Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He was part of the Chenango County Search and Rescue team and later became a member of the Amigo Canine Search and Rescue team. Tom and his Dog Cy were part of the search team during 9/11.
Tom was an active member of the First Congressional Church of Coventryville. He helped to rebuild the church after the original church was destroyed by fire. He could always be counted on to be there anytime it was needed.
He loved being in the woods whether it was to hunt, read a book or just take a nap in a tree stand. He spent many hours in the barn or tinkering in the garage. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He loved watching his children and grandchildren grow.
In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Amigo Search and Rescue Team or the Coventry Volunteer Fire Department.
Friends and family may call at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St Sidney on Tuesday August 28, 2012 from 5 to 8pm. A funeral service will be held Wednesday August 29, 2012 at 11am at the funeral chapel.
Burial with military honors will follow in Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Unadilla.
