Obituary of William Thomas Howes

William T. Howes Sidney, NY William T. Howes, 82, of Sidney, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown. Bill was born on December 15, 1929, son of the late Jesse F. and Elgia (Gray) Howes in Sidney Center. He graduated from Sidney High School and married Phyllis Dibble on February 18, 1950. Bill was a talented and well respected Heavy Equipment Operator, working for his father's company, Jesse F. Howes, Inc. in Sidney Center for most of his life. Bill was also a member of the Sidney Masonic Lodge 801 F&AM. Bill is survived by: His wife of 62 years, Phyllis Howes Two sons: Michael and Barbara Howes of Sterling, VA and Randy L. Howes of Unadilla Granddaughter, Jennifer Eggleston and Grandson, Chris Howes One Great-Granddaughter, Abigail Howes One brother, Bruce J. and Kathy Howes of Sidney Center As well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Bill was predeceased by two brothers, Robert E. and Jack L. Howes, and his sister, Betty Jean Hunt. A memorial graveside service will be held at 3:00pm on Friday, September 28, 2012 in Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Unadilla, NY.
