Obituary of Lucelia Jean Stringer

Lucelia Jean (Tela) Stringer Sidney, NY Lucelia Jean (Tela) Stringer, 78, formerly of Sidney, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 3, 2012 at Willow Point Nursing Home in Vestal. Lucelia was born in Sidney on April 21, 1934, daughter of the late Floyd and Viola (Hillsinger) Tuckey. She attended Sidney High School and worked as an inspector at Amphenol Corp until retirement in May 1993. On May 31, 1952, Tela married Ivan (Ike) Stringer in Sidney. Ike predeceased her on November 16, 1992. Tela enjoyed arts and crafts, Yankee Baseball and playing Bingo. She loved to travel, taking various trips to Texas, Florida, North Carolina and California. She also liked camping and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by: Four children: Gloria (Richard Haynes) Montgomery; Terry (Lew) Peck; Daniel (Janey) Stringer and Randy Stringer. 8 Granddaughters: CaSondra, Tamara and Amber Montgomery, Alana (Brian) Palmatier, Jennifer (Dan) Wells, Karli (Jeremy) Alward, Tiffany (Richard) Kenerly and Madison Stringer. 16 Great-Grandchildren Three sisters: Janette Belcher, Shirley Stringer and Maude Strain As well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband Ivan, Tela was predeceased by five brothers: Floyd, Jr., William, Robert, Kenneth and Roland Tuckey; and two sisters, Delores Jones and Helen Curtis. Funeral services will be private at the request of the family. Burial will take place in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney.
