Obituary of Gerard Robert Lange

Gerard Robert Lange Bainbridge, NY Gerard Robert Lange 83 of Bainbridge formerly of Miller Place passed away Monday April 8, 2013 at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton. He was born April 4, 1930 to the late Theodore and Cunigunda Lange in Merrick, NY Jerry married Barbara Drinkwater on May 2, 1953. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War. Jerry was a survivor of the Chosin Reservoir and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant in 1952. He was a longtime resident of Miller Place and was a member of the Miller Place Volunteer Fire Department. Jerry served as 1st Assistant Chief from 1980 -1981 and Fire Chief from 1982 to 1983. Jerry was employed as a Court Officer for the Suffolk County Sheriff's Dept. upon retirement they moved to Bainbridge, NY. Jerry was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sidney and was a member of the Knight of Columbus Council #4937 and was a Sir Knight of the 4th degree. He was a devoted husband to Barbara and beloved father of Deborah and her husband Edward Patrone; Keith Lange and his wife Donna; Denise Lange; Adrienne and her husband James Fortounas and beloved Grandfather of Ryan, Rachel, Candice, Alexander, Stephanie, Jacob, James and Great Grandfather to Myra. Local services will be Wednesday April 10, 2013 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney, NY. A mass of Christian burial will follow at 1:00 PM from Sacred Heart Catholic Church 15 Liberty St. Sidney with Msgr. James Cox officiating. Services in Miller Place, NY will be held Thursday, April 11, 2013 at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes1001 Route 25a Miller Place, NY, 11764 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
