Obituary of Alberta E. Davis

Alberta E. Davis Bainbridge, NY Alberta "Bert" E. Davis, 79, of Bainbridge, passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon, April 10, 2013 at Chenango Memorial Hospital with her loving family at her side. She was born on March 31, 1934 in Sanford, FL, the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Carpenter) Brewer. On June 6, 1953, Bert married Kenneth O. "K.O." Davis, II in Sanford, FL and soon moved to Sidney, NY which they called home for over 45 years until K.O.'s passing on March 31, 1999. While she had a career at the Bendix Corporation (now known as Amphenol) from 1969 until her retirement in 1995, Bert was also a proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and enjoyed life by spending time with her family. She was a woman of strength to all that she met and was never afraid to speak her mind and stand up for what she believed in. Bert was a devoted member of the United Methodist Church in Sidney. She is survived by her four children: Debbie (Daniel) Lynch of Unadilla and Terry (Rick) Landers of Jacksonville, FL, Kenneth O. Davis, III of Bainbridge and Dennis (Jack Levine) Davis of Oakland Park, FL; four grandchildren: Michael Lynch of Greene, Christopher Lynch of Jacksonville, FL, Kristina Landers and Patrick Landers, of Jacksonville, FL; her two beloved great-grandchildren, Matthew and Sean; sisters, Ruth Pettis and Virginia Pavese, and her cherished sister-in-law, Henrietta Booth, along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Bert was also predeceased by her brother, Billie. Friends may call at their convenience on Monday, April 15, 2013 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. The family will be in attendance for visitation from 11:00am-12noon on Tuesday, April 16th at the United Methodist Church, 12 Liberty Street, Sidney. Funeral services will begin at 12noon at church. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney.
