Ian Williams
Bainbridge, NY
Ian Cecil Williams, 64, of Bainbridge, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at his home after a long battle with cancer. Ian was born on February 20, 1949, son of the late Ian O. Williams and Joyce Ogborne of Walton. Ian served in the United States Army, and was a longtime employee of Amphenol Corporation as a machinist. On July 19, 1975, Ian was married to Melinda McClenon at her brother's home in Trout Creek. Together, they shared 37 years of love and happiness.
Ian enjoyed the outdoors especially this time of year when he could work with his tractors and building things. He was a member of the Bainbridge Sportsmen's Association and the IAM. Ian had many talents and was known to build computers for himself and his grandson. Ian also enjoyed rebuilding engines. He loved tractors, and with his children, rebuilt a 1948 Farmall as well as a Massey Ferguson. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, and will be sorely missed.
Ian is survived by: his wife, Melinda Williams (Bainbridge); three daughters: Ashley Williams and Eric Miranda (Bainbridge), Leah Williams (Bainbridge) and Joy and Roger Eyrolles (Norfolk, VA); his only grandson, Jacob Peterson (Bainbridge); and two brothers: Wayne and Theresa Williams (Hobart) and Carl Williams (Walton).
