Obituary of Denise C. VanLoan

Denise C. VanLoan Sidney Center, NY Denise C. VanLoan 64 passed away Sunday, November 10, 2013, surrounded by her family and friends at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester after a courageous battle against cancer. She was born July 25, 1949 to the late John and Jean (Swierczek) Tierney in Manhattan. Denise married the love of her life Ronald VanLoan on September 23, 1967 in the Baptist Church in Hancock, NY. Denise worked many jobs, but her gift was taking care of others. To her, family was most important, and she had an open door to anyone in need. Many of her family and friends benefitted from her generosity and compassion which will never be forgotten. She loved to travel and had passion for life. She is survived by: Her devoted husband, Ronald VanLoan, Sidney Center Daughter and son-in-law - Donna and Lyle Daniels, Bainbridge Daughter and son-in-law - Lori and Jaime Cole, Sidney Son - Tim VanLoan, Sidney Center Grandchildren - Derrick and Justin Daniels, Bainbridge Ryan and Cassandra Cole, Sidney A Sister and Brother-in-law - Carol and Robert Baumann, Unadilla Three Brothers - Robert Tierney, Binghamton; Larry Tierney, Sidney Center John Tierney, Sarasota, FL And several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Monday, November 18, 2013 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM with Rev. Adam Sellen and Rev. Kelvin McKnight co-officiating Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Sidney In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Thomas Golisano Hope Lodge 1120 Goodman St. South Rochester, NY; the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation; or the American Cancer Society to benefit Liver and Gallbladder Cancer research.
