Doris Marie Cardinal, 81, of Sidney Center, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2014 at her home. She was born December 14, 1932, daughter of the late Albert and Rose Amodio in Flushing, NY.
Doris married Joseph Cardinal on August 7, 1982 in Binghamton. They moved to Sidney Center and together, they raised and sold Spanish Barb horses for many years. Doris was a member of the Sidney Moose Lodge where she earned the level of college regent. She worked for the Board of Elections and volunteered for the Red Cross.
She is survived by:
Her son and daughter-in-law, Albert and Barbara Hoverson, Belford, NJ
Her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Robert Blankenhorn, Hicksville, NY
Grandchildren: Robert and Katie Blankenhorn and Patti, Steven, Nicki and Michael Hoverson
Great-grandson, Dominick Cottrell
Friends may call from 1:00 to 3:00pm and 5:00 to 7:00pm on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. Funeral services will follow at 7:00pm at the funeral chapel. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family online at www.landersfh.com.
