Obituary of Roberta Kay Burns

Roberta K. Burns Bainbridge, NY Roberta Kay Burns, 78, of Bainbridge, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown. Roberta was born on February 28, 1936, daughter of the late Bert and Freda (Robinson) Zimmerman in Sidney, NY. She graduated from Sidney High School with the Class of 1954. On November 1, 1958, she was married to Frank J. Burns in Sidney. They shared 55 years together before he predeceased her on January 30, 2014. Roberta and Frank were members of the Sidney VFW, the American Legion and the Sidney Elks Lodge 2175. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed. Roberta is survived by: 3 Children: Sharon, Patrick and Frank (fiancée, Kate) 3 Grandchildren: Brendon, Samantha and Kyla Great-grandson, Silas 2 Sisters: June Snover and Judy Houck Her dog, Boo As well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. A memorial will be held at 12:00noon on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at the Sidney Elks Lodge #2175, 104 River Street, Sidney. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Roberta's memory may be directed to the Delaware Valley Humane Society, 101 E. Main St. Sidney, NY 13838.
