Obituary of Joy D. Brown

Joy D. Brown Sidney, NY Joy D. Brown, 72, of Sidney, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Joy was born on June 17, 1942, daughter of the late Martin and Muriel (Dunbar) Donnelly in Merrick, Long Island. Joy was employed by SUNY Delhi for over 20 years, retiring from the college in April 1995. She also received her Bachelor's Degree from Delhi in 1991. She was a dedicated member of the Sidney United Methodist Church, as well as the Women of the Moose Chapter #502, the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, the Elks and the BPW. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and gardening. Her greatest happiness, however, came from spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be dearly missed. Joy is survived by: 2 Sons: John and Sandy Bouton of Andes Corbin and Antha Bouton of Roxbury Grandchildren: Jessica, Corbin, Madison and Cylus Great-grandchildren: Zane and Nicholas Brothers, Marty Donnelly and Robert Donnelly Sister, Susan Dalland As well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Joy was predeceased by two husbands, Corbin Glenford Bouton and Bill Hunt, her grandson, John Bouton, II, and her sister, Helen Thompson. Friends are invited to call from 9:00-11:00am on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at the Sidney United Methodist Church, 12 Liberty Street, Sidney, NY 13838. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am at the church with Rev. Benjamin Shaw officiating. Burial will take place at 4:00pm in the Andes Cemetery, Andes, NY.
