Richard J. Lashway, Coventryville, NY
Richard J. Lashway, 80 of Coventryville passed away peacefully Saturday, September 27, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born June 11, 1934 to the late Theodore and Eva (Dominic) Lashway in Coventryville.
Rich married Ruth Marie Conklin on July 10, 1954 in Oxford.
He was employed as a molder for the Amphenol Corp in Sidney for over 40 years when he retired and belonged to the IA of M&AW in Sidney.
He loved baseball and as a young man Rich made it to the top 5 in a tryout with the Brooklyn Dodgers he also played an All-Star game on Double Day Field in Cooperstown. Rich was privileged to coach his son and 2 of his grandsons in the Afton Little League and He was also a member of the Coventryville Volunteer Fire Department.
Rich loved stock car racing, big vegetable gardens and hunting.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years Ruth Lashway, Coventryville

He was also predeceased by Brother, Ronald and Sister, Lorraine Pinney
Friends may call Tuesday, September 30, 2014 from 5-8 PM at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Liberty St. Sidney at 11:00 AM with Fr. Gordon Polenz, pastor officiating.
Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery in Afton.
