Carolyn W. Fisher, 60, of Sidney, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown with her beloved family by her side. Carolyn was born on September 24, 1954 in Utica, NY, daughter of the late Joel Hall and Elizabeth Dunshee. She graduated from Bainbridge High School with the class of 1974. In June 1977, Carolyn began her career at Amphenol Corp. in Sidney where she was most recently a payroll clerk. She was a dedicated employee and a hard worker, never taking a full week vacation in her entire career.
Carolyn was an avid bowler for many years, participating in several leagues around the area. She was also an enthusiastic supporter of her grandchildren, rarely missing an activity they were participating in. She loved to shop and go on spontaneous late night gambling trips to Turning Stone Casino.
She is survived by:
Three children: Bridget and Mark Gascon of Masonville, Theresa and Jonathan Schaeffer of Royersford, PA and Jessie Fisher and her companion, Keith of Masonville
Stepfather, Brian Robinson
The love of her life, Larry Tompkins and his family, who were very special to her: children: Tonnia and David Wakefield, Jeremy and Betsy Tompkins, Rebecca and Drew Walling and Keith Tompkins and his companion, Brandi, all from Oxford, as well as Larry's mother, Althea Tompkins
Grandchildren: Taylor, Shana, Kyle, William, Elisabeth, Katelyn, Jules, Amelia, Khloe, Kynzie, Ryann and two baby boys on the way
Five Siblings: Jeannie and David Brockway, Cindy Hall, Amy and Reginald Cole, Joel and Mary Hall and Nova and Bill Moody
As well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, all of whom she was very close with.
Carolyn was predeceased by her father, Joel Hall, her mother, Elizabeth (Dunshee) Robinson, and her brother, Ronnie Hall.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, August 22, 2015 in Walton Cemetery. A celebration of Carolyn's life will follow at 1:00pm at the Sidney American Legion, Union St. Sidney. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Carolyn's memory may be made to the Tri-Town Relay for Life, 5 Oak Ave. Sidney, NY 13838.
